Saitama New Shuttle

Fri, August 4, 2017

Established in 1983, the New Shuttle is a rubber-tyred train connecting Ōmiya to Ina town (Uchijuku Station) in Saitama, and it is best known among tourists as the line that reaches the Saitama Railway Museum.

Photographed here is its new type of cars made by Mitsubishi, the 2020 series, which received the Japanese Good Design Award in 2016. Each car set has its own color, and there are plans to create a set of “Seven Dream” colors, representing seven jewels. The car set 22, in the photo, has the “Bright amber” tint.
