Namba streets birds eye view

Thu, June 22, 2017

The Namba district of Osaka and especially the Dotonbori area are among the busiest and strongest lit places in Japan. In this bird’s eye view, “flying” over the roof of the Kyocera Dome, you can see a few landmarks of the district, photographed in the light of the sunset.

To the right of the photo you can easily identify a grey building with and unusual design: that’s the namBa HIPS, with an architecture that tries to convey a particular concept: the round empty space is actually part of a hourglass shape that means “eternal", while a red exclamation mark symbolizes “surprise". To the left of the picture, the orange pillar is in fact the large roof decoration of the Dotonbori Don Quijote store.
