Kyoto Shoren-in Autumn Illumination

In Buddhism light symbolizes wisdom, because it drives away the darkness. Following this symbolism, several temples in Japan are featuring unique spectacles of light during autumn, when the tree leaves turn yellow and red…

Here is one of the most beautiful images I admired this autumn at the Shoren-in temple in Kyoto, with the colorful trees reflected on the still water of the pond, and what seems like a gate to another world, created by the blue lit bamboo grove in the background…
