Ozu Castle original turrets

From the Ōzu castle, originally built at the beginning of the 17th century, two turrets (yagura) from the honmaru (the central bailey, containing the keep) survived until today in their original form, and now are declared Important Cultural Properties. The main tower (tenshu) was destroyed by fire in 1888, but these two yagura were saved.

After the reconstruction of the Ōzu castle main tower, the complex looks again as it was in its heydays…
