Mojiko, an old train station on the Kagoshima Line

Mon, August 17, 2015

Opened 19 years after the inauguration of Japan’s first railway, the Mojiko Station in Kitakyushu is the oldest station on the Kagoshima Line. Its station building, designed in 1914 in the Neo-Renaissance style of architecture, is currently under restoration and will be ready in 2018.

However, even now, if you happen to pass by, you can enjoy the century-old feeling of the platforms, with arched wooden roofs and cast iron pillars and girders… .
