Longest shopping arcade in Japan

Tue, May 13, 2014

The shopping alley located in front of the Tenmangu Shrine in the Tenjinbashi neighborhood of Osaka has a history of more than 150 years. In time, more and more shops were added, and now the Tenjinbashi Suji Shopping Street is the longest straight shopping street in Japan, with a length of 2.6 kilometers!

If you want to visit, the most popular entrance is located near the Tenma Station, and can be easily located because of its large frontispiece, featuring 4 dolls inspired by the omukae ningyo ("greeting dolls") used during the boat procession of the Tenjin Festival.
