Shinto Shrines, Suzu

As you know very well, I love taking photos, but I rarely record videos. I feel that the best way to express myself is through photos…
But I was always passionate about music and sounds… and maybe that’s why, when I think about Japan, the first memories that came to my mind are the sounds - those sounds specific to Japan.

One of these sounds is the bell from the Shinto shrines, vigorously shaken by the visitors performing the hairei praying ritual. Called suzu 「鈴」, the bell is used at the beginning of the ritual to attract the attention of the kami…
