Japanese aesthetics, Enyo-tei House

Sat, March 2, 2013

Not all the Japanese gardens were built for promenade: some were designed to be admired from a dedicated building or pavilion. This is the case for the small garden next to the Enyo-tei House, located right inside the famous Korakuen Garden from Okayama.

A great example of Japanese aesthetics, the Enyo-tei House was the most important house from the garden, used by the lord for relaxation and for important guests… Burned during the WWII bombings, the house was carefully reconstructed and now it looks exactly as it was in the original form.
