Soga brothers Aomori Nebuta float

Wed, October 30, 2019

The technique of making a Nebuta float evolved in time while artists made many improvements to obtain greater expressiveness and better details. Originally made on bamboo structure, which cannot be bend, they are now made on wire frames, with finer shape details.

This old Nebuta float, displayed in the Aomori Warasse Nebuta Museum shows how the details were suggested in the old creations, with painting.
