Old and New Architecture in Tokyo - Photo 5

This is an old building that I like very much, on Asakusa Dori. I passed by it on every trip I made to Tokyo…

… and when I returned home I discovered that I never took a picture with it. I always delayed, whether because I didn’t like the light, or the street was too crowded… or I was simply too tired.

Until the last year… when I decided to take the picture the first time I passed by. :)

This small house, surviving between the two 13-storied apartment buildings, is probably the most striking example of the blending between old and new architecture that can be seen in Tokyo.

O clădire care-mi este foarte dragă, pe lângă care am trecut în fiecare an când am mers în Tokyo, pe Asakusa Dori.

Şi de fiecare dată, când am ajuns acasă, am descoperit că nu-i făcusem nicio fotografie… de fiecare dată amânând să o fotografiez, ori pentru că nu-mi plăcea lumina ori strada era prea aglomerată… ori pur şi simplu pentru că eram prea obosită.

Până anul trecut… când am fotografiat-o prima dată când am trecut pe lângă ea. :)

Este unul dintre cele mai bune exemple de arhitectură veche, supravieţuind într-o zonă populată cu blocuri noi…
