Favorite Japan places - The Suibansha

Suibansha, the sacred fountain from Toshougu Shrine at Nikko, is said to be the first washing place in a shrine using a water basin instead of a river or spring. The granite water basin was donated by the Nabeshima Clan in 1618.

I photographed the Suibansha last year, during my trip in Nikko and I was thrilled by its intricate beauty:

Locuri favorite în Japonia - Suibansha

Se spune că Suibansha, fântâna sacră de la altarul Toshougu din Nikko, a fost prima fântână, folosită pentru purificare într-un altar shinto, în care izvorul sau râul a fost înlocuit cu un bazin. Bazinul din granit a fost donat de clanul Nabeshima în anul 1618.

Am fotografiat Suibansha în excursia făcută anul trecut la Nikko, fiind încântată de frumuseţea sofisticată a arhitecturii:
