Jizo statues at Kan'ei-ji Ueno

Jizō Bosatsu is a patron of children, expectant mothers, miscarried babies, and guardian of children in limbo. Many times the Jizo statues are dressed with red hat and bibs, having next to them offerings of flowers and toys, like the paper wind mills in today’s photo.
