Wealthy traditional house in Obi

Thu, February 15, 2018

Built in the middle of the Meiji period by Takahashi Genjiro, a local politician and businessman, the Takahashi Residence in Obi, Miyazaki Prefecture is representative for a wealthy house from that era.

It has the same simple and open interior of a traditional Japanese home, only made with expensive materials and exquisite finish. Since 2010, the house was registered as a tangible cultural property.
