Shimbashi old fashioned street night view

Sat, January 27, 2018

At the beginning of the Meiji Period, when the first Shimbashi train station was built, the surrounding area was an entertainment venue, with restaurants and a geisha district.

Over the years the geisha district disappeared, but the general specific remained and the old fashioned streets of Shimbashi are still lined with restaurants, pubs and izakaya.
