Tokyo Christmas Illuminations, Shimbashi SL Plaza

Wed, December 20, 2017

In Shimbashi, Tokyo, Santa Claus comes with a… steam locomotive.
This steam locomotive Class C11 was installed here on the Japanese Railway’s 100th anniversary, and today it is the best known landmark of Shimbashi.

These days, it has Santa Claus in the driver’s seat and offers a impressive spectacle of sound, light and steam, creating a fairy tale atmosphere in this busy plaza.
