One of the oldest Japanese gardens in Tokyo is the garden near the New Otani Hotel. Established 400 years ago, the garden belonged to a samurai lord, Kiyomasa Kato (1562-1611) and at the end of the World War II, the garden was bought and renovated by Yonetaro Otani, the founder of the New Otani.
It is one of the most complex Japanese gardens from Tokyo, with a lot of attractions to explore. This is one of the most spectacular areas, with a large, 6-meters-tall waterfall which flows from the Seisen Pond:
