The tradition of the Christmas tree was brought to Japan more than a century ago by Christian missionaries, but the first modern trees appeared in Ginza, around 1910.
Today, although few Japanese have a Christmas tree at home, in many commercial venues you will find Christmas trees and ornaments, like the one in this photo taken at the Venus Fort mall in Odaiba, Tokyo.
Merry Christmas!
