A city with mostly grey buildings (like some parts of my hometown) sends a subtle feeling of sadness. On the contrary, a city full of vivid colors provokes a feeling of optimism and inspiration. This is probably one of the reasons I like Tokyo so much…
One example of the many vividly decorated Tokyo places is the elevated pedestrian walkway in front of the Ueno Station, an area which otherwise would look dull. Photographed here during sunset, besides the colorful decorations, if you look closely you’ll notice a couple of white round roofs. These are displays hosting various micro-expositions like the Knitting Ram I photographed last summer… I wonder if it’s still there…
