Toki-no-Kane, the Bell of Time tower in Kawagoe, sounded the exact time for the last two and a half centuries. Today the bell can be heard four times a day, at 6 AM, at noon, at 3 PM and at 6 PM. Its pleasant sound was selected 22 years ago to be included on the official list of “100 Japanese Soundscapes".
