If you take a boat ride on Sumida River, while passing the Tsukishima Island you will surely notice the Ishikawajima Lighthouse. Built 130 years ago to guide the boats sailing the river, the lighthouse is a remnant of the past with its white plaster walls and parts covered by charcoal tiles (called namako walls), a style rarely seen today in Tokyo.
