Kyoto Jidai Matsuri is a unique opportunity to admire a parade with historically accurate Japanese costumes from various periods, beginning with the Heian period (794 to 1185) and going through the history until the Meiji period (1868 to 1912).
More than 2,000 participants are marching through Kyoto, in a several kilometers long parade, and it is quite easy to find a spot from where to admire the entire spectacle. Of course, the most interesting are the lords of the medieval period Sengoku, mounted and fully dressed in battle armors…
