One of the most spectacular tourist information centers in Japan is the one in Aomori, an eye-catching pyramid shaped 76 meters tall building. Called ASPAM, initials from Aomori Sightseeing Products Mansion (plus an extra “A” to make it pronounceable), the building can be easily located in the bay area, not far from the Aomori train station.
Travel tip: It is well worth to spend a couple of hours exploring it, there are restaurants with local cuisine, lots of shops offering souvenirs and local products (you must try the apples!) and the panorama from the top floor observatory is simply breathtaking!
