One of the oldest and most important Shinto shrines in Tokyo is Shiba Daijingu, a quite small but beautiful shrine, surrounded today by modern skyscrapers. Located in Minato, close to the Toei Subway Daimon Station, it can be easily visited along with the neighboring Zojo-ji and Tokyo Tower.
Shiba Daijingu was once well known to the citizens of Edo, because while it was a place of spiritual meaning, it was also located close to an entertainment area, a venue for festivals and sumo bouts, filled with shops and food stalls…
