Aomori Nebuta Matsuri is one of the largest Japanese festivals, being counted as one the three greatest festivals taking place in the Tōhoku region. It takes place at the beginning of August and it is certainly a “must see", but if you visit Aomori during other period of time, you can still enjoy a part of its beauty.
The Warasse Nebuta Museum exhibits five of the floats (nebuta in Japanese) declared winners during the last festival. And, as you can see in this photo, to preserve their charm, the floats are displayed lit up as their were used during the festival…
