While visiting a country, we are always on the lookout for new travel information, so we take at least a look any billboard, map or poster displayed…
But in Japan there’s a unique place that you might want to check out for more ideas: the manhole covers! Yes, in Japan these often ignored pieces of civil engineering can provide valuable information about places to visit, local festivals, souvenirs or even… foods to sample.
Here’s such manhole cover, photographed in Shimonoseki, representing a cute fugu (blowfish), because this famous traditional dish is representative for Shimonoseki.
