The Aizu-Wakamatsu city is also known as the “samurai city", so the architecture of the railway station was selected to be similar to the buildings representative for the samurai class. The walls are covered with white plaster, and the roof from the main entrance is made in the traditional kirizuma style, used for the Japanese castles.
