If you visit Nagasaki and you’re interested in the traditional religious architecture, you shouldn’t miss Sofuku-ji, a temple that features many rare and beautiful elements.
The main gate is made in an unusual Ryugu-zukuri style, the temple’s statue with internal organs is also a very rare artifact, and another eight-legged gate (hakkyakumon), photographed here, is a unique of its kind, combining Japanese and Chinese architectural elements.
