Iso-watari at Kiyosumi Teien Japanese Garden

Thu, April 28, 2011

One of the attractions in Kiyosumi Teien, the Japanese garden from Fukagawa, Tokyo, is the collection of rocks.
Collected from many places in Japan, a part of these rocks was used to decorate the shores of the lake, while another part was used to create a magnificent stepping stone pathway called Iso-watari, which crosses a part of the lake.

In the background, you can also see the teahouse, built in 1909 for the visit of Herbert Kitchener, which was received as a national guest.
