Quiet summer night at Senso-ji Temple

The Senso-ji Temple from Asakusa was the first temple I visited in Japan and I enjoyed it so much that it remained my favorite place. Since then, during every visit to Tokyo, I visit Senso-ji, at least once. So, I saw it during festivals, like Hozuki Ichi, the Chinese lantern plant fair (when it's crowded), during the New Year's night or during the first days of the year (when the nearby Nakamise Dori is extremely crowded).

But the best time to enjoy Senso-ji is after dark, when the Nakamise-dori shops are closing and not many people remain inside the temple's courtyard. Just a few passerby are stopping for a prayer, or to admire the spectacular beauty of this this marvelous place...
