Unusual architecture in Kamakura - Hakujitsudo

Close to the Hasedera Temple in Kamakura, you can admire the unusual architecture of the Hakujitsudo, a combination of modern and traditional styles.

The building was constructed in 1936 and it is a Kamakura-bori workshop.

The first floor is built in a modern style (at the time), with large windows, while the second floor and the roof is built in a traditional Japanese style, similar to a temple or a castle.

Foarte aproape de templul Hasedera din Kamakura, puteţi admira Hakujitsudo, o clădire cu o arhitectură neobişnuită, o combinaţie de stiluri tradiţionale şi moderne.

Clădirea a fost constrută în anul 1936 şi este un atelier de Kamakura-bori, un stil tradiţional de sculptură în lemn lăcuit, specific zonei Kamakura.

Parterul este în stil modern (pentru vremea respectivă), cu geamuri mari, iar etajul şi acoperişul în stil tradiţional japonez, asemănător cu un templu sau un castel.
