About Japan from... manhole covers, Hinomisaki Lighthouse

Mon, May 8, 2017, by Muza-chan

With a height of 43 meters (but rising 63 meters above sea level), the Hinomisaki Lighthouse is Japan’s tallest masonry lighthouse, and it is in the top 100 historic lighthouses in the world.

From the top of the lighthouse you can admire a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan, and of course, the manhole covers in Izumo are “advertising” it. If you want to visit it, it is a 20 minutes bus ride from the Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, or a 45 minutes bus ride from the JR Izumo Station.
