Declared as National Treasure of Japan, the Sanmon gate of the Tofuku-ji Temple in Kyoto is one of the most spectacular wooden gates in Japan.
With an impressive width of 22 meters and a height of two stories, it was built in 1405 and it survived, to the present time, perfectly preserved.
