Tokyo is generally perceived as a conglomerate of high-rise buildings, but outside the central area circled by the JR Yamanote line there are not many skyscrapers, most of the city consisting of small apartment buildings and houses.
And even in the central area there are still some oasis of houses, like the one photographed here, which drew my attention while I was admiring the landscape from the top of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. This is Minami Aoyama, a neighborhood delimited by the Aoyama Cemetery (in the forefront) and the Aoyama Dori.
In the background, you can see the park surrounding Meiji Jingu and some of the skyscrapers from Nishi Shinjuku (the Tokyo Opera City and the Park Hyatt Hotel).
