Mon, May 7, 2018, by Muza-chan

Dōgo onsen in Matsuyama is of one of the Three Ancient Springs of Japan, and it became famous throughout the world as the main inspiration for the acclaimed anime film Spirited Away.

The main building was built 124 years ago, and it is the first Japanese bathhouse declared an important cultural asset. A 3 story wooden building, with a clock tower on the roof, it covers a surface of one thousand square meters, housing several public baths, relaxation areas and private rooms.
