Dream Yosakoi Festival

Wed, July 17, 2019, by Muza-chan

Established 65 years ago in Kochi, the Yosakoi dance festivals are now taking place in many Japanese cities (and even outside Japan).

What is the Yosakoi festival? Teams of dancers, from children to seniors, dressed in spectacular, uniquely designed costumes, are dancing on a traditional tune named Yosakoi Naruko Odori, which is creatively rearranged to sound traditional or like rock or samba.

One of the important Yosakoi festivals, with about 70 participant teams, takes place in autumn in Tokyo, Odaiba.
