Forty-seven Ronin Graves

If you enjoy samurai stories and Japanese history, the Sengaku-ji Temple from Tokyo is a must visit! Here are the graves of Asano Takumi no Kami Naganori and the forty-seven samurai, the heroes of an impressive historical moment emphasizing the traditional Japanese view of loyalty, sacrifice and honor.

Chatting a little bit with other foreign visitors, I noticed that almost everyone knew very well the story of the Forty-seven Ronin. But a thoughtful souvenirs seller was ready to retell the story to anyone stopping by…
