Hello Kitty mania, Sanrio Ikebukuro Gift Gate

I have to confess that I was completely indifferent to the whole Hello Kitty phenomenon until I saw the ones made especially for Japan. When I found my first kimono dressed Hello Kitty, my own Hello Kitty mania begun… (^_^)

Travel tip: If you like Hello Kitty and you want to find some great specials, the large specialized stores like the one in this photo (located in Ikebukuro) may not be the best option. Surprisingly, some of the best (and rare) Hello Kitty products can be found only around the tourist attractions. Check the souvenir venues, the observatories, even the popular temples or shrines…
