Hidden Great Buddha on Kurama, Kyoto

If you visit the Kurama mountain, north of Kyoto, before arriving at Kurama-dera, right behind the purification fountain, you will see another temple hall, Tenporin-do.

Usually the hall has its doors shut, but don’t discourage… Carefully slide the door open and you will be delighted by one of the most beautiful Great Buddha (Daibutsu) statues…
