One of the most popular Japanese mascots is Kyuta-kun, the mascot of Tokyo Fire Department. The Japanese firemen are equipped with the latest technologies, so it’s only natural for their mascot to be a fireman from the future… and obviously, a kawaii one.
Kyuta-kun’s red costume signifies that he’s not afraid of fire, his blue helmet symbolizes the water and the two yellow antennas are representing his ability to sense the danger. The number on his chest, 119, is the Japanese emergency phone number.
