In November, on the days of the Tori (rooster) in the Chinese calendar (November 7th and 19th in 2010), the Tori-no-ichi Fair takes place at the Ohtori Shrine and Chokoku-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo.
The origins of this festival are in the Edo Period and it is still popular: every year, hundreds of sellers are gathering here to sell kumade, bamboo rakes for good luck.
