Because the time I can spend in Japan is limited, I am always planning my travels with great care, taking into account everything possible, from local events to weather forecast. Over time, after I became more experienced, I managed to greatly improve the rate of success in obtaining the photos I wanted, but I have to admit, the best photos are always a combination of luck and observation.
That’s what happened with this photo. I love the small Shirakawa-minami street in Gion, Kyoto, and I visited the place several years in a row, hoping for my favorite combination of light, weather conditions and lack of crowding. And I finally got it, on a rainy evening…
