As I said before, the Japanese castles were more than military fortifications, they were also symbols of the ruler’s wealth and power, many of them being decorated with gardens and trees. Of course, many of these decorative trees were sakura, so today many Japanese castles are naturally associated with the image of blossoming cherry trees…
