Besides buildings, the Japanese traditional architecture also includes some intriguing walls and fences.
Photographed here is a beautiful and interesting type of earthen wall called kawara-bei, from kawara, “roof tiles” and bei, meaning “fence” or “wall". The tiles are adorning the wall with geometrical motifs, while at the same time strengthening the structure…
