Old Japanese Architecture, Jisho-in Mausoleum

Mon, November 15, 2010, by Muza-chan

The Jisho-in Mausoleum is one of the most beautiful buildings from the Edo Tokyo Open Air Museum, and it was declared a cultural landmark.

It was built in 1652 by the wife of Mitsutomo Tokugawa, Princess Chiyo, in memory of Lady Ofuri, her mother, and it was part of the Jisho Temple in Ichigaya, Shinjuku-ku.
