The small garden photographed here is today part of the Kenroku-en garden, but originally was the garden of the Takezawa villa, the residence of the lord of Kaga domain, Maeda Narinaga.

Crossed by an artificial water stream, this delightful garden was preserved unchanged until today. Built on a small hill, the place is called “the Seven Lucky Gods hill", name that comes from the seven stones, arranged in a way that suggests the traditional statues of the Seven Lucky Gods (on the left of the stone lantern in this photo).
