Kawagoe Honmaru Goten reception hall

Mon, June 17, 2019, by Muza-chan

Made towards the end of the Edo period, Honmaru Goten, the palace of the Kawagoe castle is among the very few Japanese castle palaces that survived until today.

Actually, it is only a part of the original palace, about 1/6 of the original surface, but includes all the important halls: the entrance hall, the reception hall (in today’s photo), and the chief retainer’s office.
