Kyoto Shimabara Wachigaiya

Fri, September 28, 2018, by Muza-chan

Beside Sumiya, another important building preserved in its original form in the historic district of Shimabara, Kyoto, is Wachigaiya, photographed here. Built 330 years ago, it was both an okiya, a geisha house, and an ageya (restaurant where geisha work).
