Kyoto Station

The today’s Kyoto Station is the fourth building, inaugurated 22 years ago, on the occasion of the 1,200th anniversary of Kyoto.

Designed by the architect Hara Hiroshi right after another masterpiece, the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, Kyoto Station impresses with very large, friendly and semi-open spaces. And since nothing repeats, not horizontally nor vertically, there’s also a bit of a labyrinth feeling…
