LOVE sculpture in Shinjuku

One of the best known series of public art works in the world, the LOVE sculpture created by the American artist Robert Indiana is present in Japan too, in Tokyo, near the Shinjuku I-LAND Tower.

The version from Tokyo was made with blue and green inside the letters, the colors used in the original design from 1964, the Christmas card from the Museum of Modern Art of New York. The blue and green spaces are said to create a calming effect, emphasizing at the same time the red letters…
