The palace of the Nagoya castle, Honmaru Goten, was recently reconstructed by using old photos and painting saved from the bombings at the end of the WWII, and it looks today as it was when it was first erected by the Tokugawa Ieyasu, 400 years ago.
Photographed here is the entrance, featuring a karahafu gable, which was a symbol of authority in medieval Japan.
